Tasting notes: One capsule coffee tasted really good

How good are is the Capsule Coffees of the Nespresso competition? In a K-Tipp - tasting, "Pressogno" came first.

The biggest consumer magazine in Switzerland, K-Tip, tested capsules from eight manufacturers. The selection included a comparable standard Espresso blend, none were very strong or very mild.


The result of the tasting :

1. Good
   Only "Espresso Medium" from Pressogno received a good score. The jury's verdict: "A mild, balanced Espresso."
   
2. Average
   The "Espresso" from Café Royal came second. Third place was awared to "Espresso Media" from XO Noir, the jury criticized a "lack of body".
   
3. Below standard
   The "Espresso" from La Mocha Caffè didn't fare well with the jury:
   "This is a coffee, but not an espresso blend". That was also true for
   the "Espresso Milano" from Denner ("watery consistency") and for "Caffè Vergnano from Espresso 1882 ("lack of flavour, watery "). Also not convincing were the "Espresso Classico" by Jacobs ("unclean
   note, rotten beans") and the " Supremo" of Aldi ("missing touch of
   coffee, cereal taste").

coffee in Hori ZH, food journalist Patrick Zbinden, Barista Giuliano
Bartoli of the Zurich Bar La Stanza and confectioner Kurt Schempp in
Zurich.
